BRHL- Art by David Bruehl
This blog is one of my ways of presenting my work to the public while putting some of myself out there as well. I know when I look at artists, I'm just as interested in process as I am in finished work, so perhaps others may find that interesting in my work.

We're Moving
After a lot of thought, my family and I have decided to move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I put a previous post up about how I feel about OKC after I visited and many of our reasons for moving are mentioned there.
We're moving in February of 2007, about three months from now. Once we're there, I will be working at Atomic Lotus Tattoo Studio. I'm very excited about this move.
If anyone has any work in progress from me, please get in contact with me ASAP.

One of my favorite artists
For a while I thought that James Jean was a bit of a hidden treasure. His work has a unique sort of grace to it, very much unlike any other artist I know. Lately I've found that more people know of him than I was aware. He actually had a piece in the "Typewriters" show at RedLetter1. At the moment I saw it, I didn't grasp the fact that I got to see an original by him in person. You may recognize Jean's work as an illustration that really held you for a bit while looking through a magazine, or perhaps you saw some of his cover work for Vertigo's "Fables" comics. Nonetheless, check out his website and his blog, and get inspired.

Pics of Bohemia
We had our baby shower at cafe bohemia- an incredible little cafe in downtown St. Petersburg on Central. Places like this are never supported enough, and although they are pretty busy it can't hurt to give them support. Check them out, the food is amazing, the drinks are amazing, and the place is really cool. Many thanks.

Phew, a lot's gone on since my last post! I've intended for this blog to be pretty much an every day thing, and I'm still on that page. A few other things got in the way in the last couple of weeks.
I took Zeke to Oklahoma for a few days to spend time with my family before Kimmy has the baby. We had a really good time there. Zeke loved going to the Oklahoma State Fair, and we got some good pictures there. When I get them from my mom, I'll post them. Unfortunately, Oklahoma made me realize how much I miss it there and how much I miss spending time with my family. That state is so much more "my speed" than Florida so every time I leave to come back to Florida, I feel like I'm leaving home.
We're a few days away from the baby shower. Kimmy and I are basically making the final preparations for that. Kimmy's really excited and very pregnant, with less than a month until Abe makes his appearance.
Zeke also had his 4th birthday on the 25th. We had a small party for him at Chuckie Cheese's. Zeke's gifts are preparing him to be a true renaissance man; he got a guitar, a basketball and hoop, a baseball set-up, educational games, and an easel and art supplies.
As for everything else, things have finally calmed down to the point where I've been able to get my studio set up. In an effort to produce more work, I'm committing to producing a painting a day (about postcard-size) for the next 333 days. To get the ball rolling I'm selling a couple of paintings of equivalent size on ebay. My next couple posts will be about that.
